GARSTON VETERANS OVER 40S FRIENDLY LEAGUE LEAGUE RULES SEASON 2016/2017

  1. This friendly league competition will be known as the Garston Veterans Over 40s Friendly League.
  2. All clubs must field players aged over 40 years of age or over however five players aged less than 40 but 35 or over may also be used. Should any team need to field a player aged 34 or under then it shall concede the relevant fixture.
  3. The entry fee for 2016/2017 will be £60 per club for the league including cup entry. £30 for invitation league cup entry only. Payable before the start of the season, this one off fee will cover all admin costs, as well as mementoes for the winners and r/up of league cup. And winners of the league.
  4. 3 points will be awarded for a win, and 1 point for a draw.
  5. The result of each match regardless of which team won must be text through by both sides to the Secretary on 07976 421770 as soon as possible. Results will then be sent to Dan Jacobs. Results, updated league standings and news can be obtained from this club website.
  6. If two teams are level on points at the end of the season then the combined results of the matches between the two tied teams will decide the winner (to include goal diff if required).
  7. Normal Veterans football codes of practice should be followed i.e. two halves of 40 minutes each way with roll on roll off substitutes, (i.e. the re introduction of previously substituted players is allowed). A buffet after the game sufficient for players and officials of both clubs. League cup ties shall be 40 minutes each way in duration with ten minutes each way extra time if scores are level. If the scores remain level after extra time a penalty shootout will determine the winners.
    • Except for bad weather and county cup if a game is cancelled by a club later than the MONDAY evening prior to the confirmed match day i.e. 6 days the offending club will receive a warning with a second offence resulting in a £20 fine and each additional offence resulting in the fine being doubled.
    • The game must then be rearranged for a later date.
    • Should a game be abandoned for any disciplinary related reason by the referee the offending club will be fined £30 and be reported to the relevant county authority, the game will then be awarded to the non offending club (1-0).
    • Home teams must contact their visiting opposition in the event of bad weather rendering their pitch unplayable, an attempt should be made to reverse the fixture if possible before agreeing to postpone.
    • Any team failing to notify the opposition that they cannot field a team for a fixture will be fined £30.
    • Any team kicking off later than 15 minutes or more will be fined £20.
    • Any team failing to confirm a game with the opposition by the MONDAY evening prior to the confirmed date i.e 6 days the offending club must be reported and will be fined £20.
    • Sin bins have been introduced as a punishment to the individual and the team, therefore the team is reduced by one until he has served his fifteen minutes. Referees will be given a set of rules by the referees secretary. Also, yellow and red cards are an option for referees as the league is affiliated. And all rules have been sanctioned by the Herts F.A.

    All matters above must be reported to the league secretary as soon as possible.

  8. If a match is unable to be played at any time during the season no points will be awarded.
    • If a team withdraws from the league said club will be fined £50.
    • If a team withdraws from league cup comp said club will be fined £30.
    • For all league cup ties  the away team must cover the referees fee i.e £35.
    • Any team winning a competition must return the annual trophy engraved and in good condition by the end of February, should a trophy be returned in poor condition or not engraved a fine of £20 will be levied.
  9. Agreed disciplinary actions:
    • Manhandling an official – 5 years suspension.
    • Violent conduct – 4 games suspension.
    • Sent off for foul play – 2 games suspension.
    • 15 min sin bin introduced for a cooling down period.
    • 2 sin bin offences in same match – sent off and one game suspension.
    • ALL incidents must be reported to secretary and your local associations immediately.
